Joseph Marek has more than 30 years of leadership experience in pharmacy, healthcare & long-term care, both on the pharmacy and provider side of the business. He joined CommuniCare in 2013 as Vice President of Pharmacy Services and is currently the Chief Pharmacy Officer. Prior to joining CommuniCare he was with Omnicare for twenty years.

He is currently responsible for comprehensive pharmacy services across the CommuniCare Family of Companies and aligning them to deliver operational, financial and clinical outcomes.  This includes development and oversight of our dispensing pharmacies, pharmacy support services for our skilled nursing facilities and oversight of our newly developed pharmacy benefit company for our employees.

Joseph is a registered pharmacist and graduated from the University of Toledo and holds a board certification in geriatrics.  He also is the former Chair of the Board and President of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, an international pharmacy association.
